The Paper Basket Review & Giveaway

The Paper Basket Giveaway by Momentsforthejourney.net

Happy Monday y’all! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend. I know I sure did. Do you want to know why? …

I received the product for and worked on my first product review!

A few weeks ago I discovered The Paper Basket on Etsy and instantly fell in love with Katie’s papers. When I say “fell in love” I mean I went on a pinning spree and pinned just about every item in her shop to my “Journal Inspiration” board!

The Paper Basket is dedicated to providing vintage paper products, assorted journal papers, and handmade junk journals. If you are a journaler, scrapbooker, or general paper lover I highly recommend you go to The Paper Basket as soon as you are done here and do some shopping! 🙂

Katie sent me her newest additions to her shop – her coffee-stained note cards. These cards are beautiful! I’m talking so nice I sat for at least 5 minutes after I unwrapped them with them in front of me because I was afraid I would mess them up if I wrote on them. (Nerdy I know :))

But eventually I sucked it up, and wrote on them. I was a little afraid that the texture of the paper would make it difficult to write on, but boy was I wrong! They are so smooth to write on and the texture only adds depth and beauty to the ink.

I tested all of my favorite pens on the paper – I have a lot of pens. They all worked great, but my favorites to write with on this paper are the Pilot G-2 gel pen and the Papermate Flair Pens My regular ball point pen wrote too light, and I felt that with paper this beautiful I should only use pens that did it justice. I also appreciated that the marker pens didn’t soak through!

For all of you that know me even a little you know that I love lists. I wanted to share with you all a list of what I love about these note cards. (And yes I can give a list about the quality of paper – I am a bit of a nerd when it comes to paper products and office supplies.)

  • These cards smell like coffee! Enough said. 🙂
  • Each card is unique. Katie’s process of coffee staining these cards allows for each card to have its own specific look. One card may be darker than the next.
  • They are smooth and easy to write on!
  • These cards have a beautifully crisp detailed stamp on each one.
  • They add texture to the typical journal page (or scrapbook page).
  • They are versatile. These cards serve as wonderful journal cards, scrapbook elements, and even little note cards for a handwritten note to a friend.
  • These note cards open up all kinds of creative possibilities!

And now on to the best part of this post. Katie was kind enough to give one lucky reader a pack of these note cards! I am also giving away a DiVoga Spiral Notebook. This is the journal I currently use and I enjoy it so much. The cover is a soft felt that slides on any spiral notebook that size, so you can switch out the notebook when you fill it up with all of your awesome musings.

      1. I know, it’s so cute right! For the giveaway Katie is giving away her cards that have the “a note” stamp on them. The hot air balloon cards are $2.50 for a pack of 5 I believe. (And totally worth it!).

    1. I love to scrapbook and think it would be fun to have different and fun paper. I love to keep a personal journal

    2. Uhm. I can’t describe to you how much I want to win this. I love anything that has to do with paper, journaling, or coffee (i’m a barista, did you know?)!! I ADORE those fun coffee papers. I ADORE that journal and can already see myself getting one, even if it isn’t through this giveaway. Same with her papers! I’m tweeting this one every day!
