On Saturday Lyle and I did a double feature at our local cheap theater. We decided to watch The Book Thief and Thor: The Dark World. Both of these were AMAZING! If you haven’t seen them I highly suggest you put them on the top of your “to rent” list when they come out. I enjoyed these movies so much that I wanted to share some of my favorite quotes with you.
In preparation for seeing The Book Thief I read the book, and thoroughly adored it! There were some differences between the book and the movie, but none that caused me to dislike the movie. Here are the moments that stuck with me:
-
“If your eyes could speak, what would they say?” -Max Vandenburg
“The only truth that I truly know is that I am haunted by humans.” -The Narrator (Death)
“One small fact: you are going to die. Despite every effort, no one lives forever. Sorry to be such a spoiler. My advice is when the time comes, don’t panic. It doesn’t seem to help.” -The Narrator (Death)
“I’m not lost to you, Liesel. You’ll always be able to find me in your words. That’s where I’ll live on.” -Max Vandenburg
“So… How is Rudy?”
“I don’t know. Rudy is a pain in the neck.”
“The only thing worse than a boy you hate, is a boy you like, right?” -Conversation between Liesel Meminger & Max Vandenburg
I am a serious geek y’all and I love super hero movies. So of course I had to see Thor: The Dark World, and these were my favorite moments.
-
“There is nothing more reassuring than knowing that the world is crazier than you are.” -Dr. Erik Selvig
“This is so unlike you, brother. So… clandestine. Are you sure you wouldn’t rather punch your way out?” -Loki
In response: “If you keep talking, I might.” -Thor
“If you even THINK about betraying him” … “You’ll kill me? Evidently there will be a line.” -Conversation between Volstagg and Loki
These are some great lines! I would love to see both of these movies again, soon.

How fun! I’ve been wanting to see (and read!) The Book Thief for a while – now it’s a def must see 🙂
It is good – the book and the movie! I would definitely recommend both. I do think that the book helps you understand some things in the movie a little better (or at least a deeper understanding).
The Book Thief is loaded onto my Kindle, but I have yet to read it. Sad, I know. But, it’s at the top of my list, because I wanted to see it before I watched the movie as well. Also, I LOVE superhero movies. And I loved the first Thor. I’m really excited to see both of these movies! Glad you thought they were good!
Super hero movies are the best, right? I always enjoy them! You should definitely put The Book Thief next on your list to read – since you already have it 🙂
I loved Thor! Great movie.I bought The Book Thief at a book sale a while back. It’s on my to read list. (=
The Book Thief is really good. I enjoyed both the movie and the book.
