Often times when I get the urge to write but lack the creativity to come up with something to write about I check out www.plinky.com. This website provides daily prompts to give you something to write about. Today’s prompt was, “If you could read minds for the day, would you?” Now normally, I would say no to this question, because honestly I have no interest in hearing the weird, mean, or mundane thoughts going on in everyone’s minds. However, after careful consideration, I decided that if I could have read minds today I definitely would have, because today I had a job interview.
I decided that the ability to read people’s minds would have been very helpful during the interview process to get a better feel if I was impressing him or not. While he was saying, “you are one of the top candidates I am looking at for this position,” I would know if it was a line or the truth. Also, I wouldn’t have to sit here and wait several days to find out if I even had a shot at retaining the position. But, alas, I did not have the ability to read my interviewer’s thoughts today, so I guess I have to be patient.
The keys to patience are acceptance and faith. Accept things as they are, and look realistically at the world around you. Have faith in yourself and in the direction you have chosen. – Ralph Marston
